Newbridge Kildare Lions supported a Special School Books Project in South Lebanon.

In 2002 whilst on a United Nations Peacekeeping tour in South Lebanon Lion Tom Carter ( Irish Army Col )

organised the donation of a large amount of School books to

three local Lebanese Schools within the UN Peacekeeping Zone. 

The Schools were of both Christian and Muslim religions.

This project was supported by Newbridge Kildare Lions Club and is an example of the Clubs

ability in a small but very meaningful way to a make a difference on foreign soil.
